State Civil Service and police sub-inspector main examination results have been declared by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC).
The exams were conducted last year and results were delayed due to some technical reasons. Hundreds of candidates, who appeared for these exams, were eagerly waiting for the results.
MPSC was criticized by candidates and many others after the schedule for this year's competitive examinations went haywire. Results of several main examinations like state civil services, PSI, sales tax inspector were delayed by nearly seven to eight months.
The PSI main exam was conducted on July 22 last year. Though the norms say results should be declared within 40 days of the examination, the MPSC failed to stick to schedule.
The state civil services main examination was conducted on September 1 to 3, 2012 for the 350 vacant posts of Class-I officers like deputy collector, tehsildar, assistant commissioner of police and assistant sales tax commissioner.
This exam result was also delayed by nearly five to six months. Meanwhile, the examination for the 54 posts of finance and accounts officer was cancelled.
