Metal detectors at railway station not functional - Source LT

Security of passengers might be compromised
Passengers from the city and Marathwada have alleged that the railway authorities are not bothered about commuters' safety. They have pointed out that metal detectors are not in working condition for a month and no action is taken against the same.
Government Railway Police (GRP) have passed on the buck to Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials. Station manager A C Nikam said, "It is the responsibility of the RPF to maintain the metal detectors." A RPF official said, "The metal detectors are temporarily out of service and will be repaired in few days."
More than 30,000 people commute via railway daily. API GRP S M Gade and head constable M S Dhawle Aurangabad railway station said that there is regular patrol on the station premises against the backdrop of Hyderabad bomb blasts.
