The second edition of the Engineering Expo 2013 was inaugurated at Ayodhya Nagari Ground on Friday.
The exhibition, inaugurated by mayor Kala Oza, also saw Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Sanjay Shirsath, Pradeep Jaiswal, MSME Development Institute director G M Ambhore, National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) director P Uday Kumar, associate vice-president, Network 18 Sudhanva Jategaonkar, industrialist Mansingh Pawar and Aurangabad Industrial Suppliers Association (AISA) president Vijay Jaiswal.
Organised by Network18 Publishing, in association with AISA, the exhibition will play host to various industry giants and market leaders who will showcase some of their best products and services till February 25. MLA Shirsath said the exhibition will give a boost to local industries helping in the development of the entire region.
NSIC director Kumar said Aurangabad's small scale industries (SSIs) are very promising. "SSIs here have a great future, as they are enthusiastic and are keen to grow. They will play a key role in developing the region," he said.
The exposition will focus on providing opportunities to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to demonstrate their capabilities, among other things, said AISA president Jaiswal.
"This exhibition will offer a platform to industries across the country and enable exhibitors to formalise business alliances for mutual growth," he said. The 250 stalls on display - which will display equipment from almost 30 sectors - are expected to see around 20,000 visitors, he said.
Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) president Sunil Raithatha, Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA) Dr Uday Girdhari, Aurangabad Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh president Adeshpalsingh Chhabda, among others, were present.
